The General Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (301 Hospital), founded in 1953, is a large modern comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, health care, teaching and scientific research. The hospital is responsible for the medical and health care tasks of the CPC Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, the head of the headquarters and some military officers stationed in Beijing. It is also responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critical patients transferred by military regions, services and arms, and the treatment of patients all over the country. The hospital is also the PLA Medical College and the only hospital running unit in the whole army.
The hospital has won more than 1300 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological achievement awards, including 6 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 2 Chinese invention awards, and 21 first prizes for military scientific and technological progress. On January 18, 2008, Qin Yinhe, the vice minister of the General Logistics Department and the president of the General Hospital, and Wen Degong, the political commissar, formally signed the appointment letter with the new first director of plastic surgery, Professor Xu Jun, at the appointment meeting of the department director of the General Hospital, and solemnly announced the establishment of plastic surgery in the General Hospital. It opened the historical starting point of plastic surgery in the General Hospital. There are 12 doctors in plastic surgery, including 4 doctors with senior professional titles, 5 doctors with intermediate professional titles, 7 doctors with medical degrees and 3 doctors with master's degrees. This method overcomes the complications caused by the use of breast prosthesis or transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous flap in the past, such as capsule contracture, abdominal wall hernia, etc. Satisfactory results have been achieved.
