Can immediate breast reconstruction affect the prognosis after breast cancer surgery?

At present, a large number of studies have shown that there is no difference in the incidence of complications and tumor recurrence between immediate breast reconstruction and simple breast cancer resection.

However, for patients with radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment plans, the impact of radiotherapy and chemotherapy should be considered.

Surgical methods of breast reconstruction

1. Prosthesis placement

It is mainly aimed at less incision scar, good breast tissue preservation, breast, pectoralis major, areola and nipple preservation.

2. Autologous tissue transplantation

It is mainly aimed at removing more tissues, and doctors have removed the breast, pectoralis major muscle, nipple, etc. in order to achieve treatment results and better surgical prognosis.

The autogenous tissues transplanted mainly include abdominal myocutaneous flap, latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap and gluteal myocutaneous flap.

However, immediate breast reconstruction is relatively difficult. We still need to go to the hospital and follow the doctor's advice. After all, not all breast cancer resections can be performed with breast reconstruction.
