How to judge the embryo quality of IVF

Embryonic morphology

Growth rate
The rate of embryo development is another important indicator for evaluating embryo quality. Generally, the cell division and development of the embryo should be regular and orderly. The speed of cell division is too fast or too slow, which may mean that there are some problems in the embryo, such as chromosome abnormalities or embryonic development defects.
According to international standards, embryos generally need to go through a development process of 5 to 6 days from fertilization to maturity. Doctors and laboratory staff will divide embryos into different development stages according to the division of embryonic cells. If the development speed and stage of the embryo are consistent with the normal embryo, it means that the quality of the embryo is better and it is more suitable for transplantation.
Cytoplasmic evaluation
Cytoplasmic assessment is a method to directly observe the structure and function of embryo cells. By detecting the morphology, distribution and activity of various organelles and functional substances in the cytoplasm, the metabolic capacity, physiological status and development potential of the embryo can be evaluated.
At present, cytoplasmic evaluation mainly relies on microscopic observation and biochemical technology. Among them, laser confocal microscopy and staining technology can provide high-resolution images of embryonic cytoplasm to help doctors judge whether organelles are normal and cell metabolism is normal.
